At LTC, Dr. Lacey provided leadership in the development of an Instructional Master Plan that has led to the development of new programs, program expansion, facility renovation, facility expansion and the hiring of new staff.

Janelle Koren received the 2007 Alumnus of the Year Award.  The Alumnus of the Year Award is given annually to a graduate of Lakeshore Technical College who has achieved both professional and personal success.

Locate Staffing Establishes On-Site Staffing Division

Locate Staffing is pleased to announce the establishment of an On-Site Staffing Division for their Sheboygan location. Locate Staffing has been growing in the Sheboygan area since its inception in 1999. On-Site staffing is new for Locate but Janelle Koren, founder and President, is confident this is another way to take her temporary staffing business to the next level for local companies.

On-Site Staffing or VOP (Vendor on Premise) programs are gaining popularity at astonishing rates. These On-Site programs have grown to be a $12 Billion dollar industry since the early 1990’s. The average cost reduction to employers is between 9-12%, with 3% of Fortune 500 clients currently utilizing VOP programs. Many companies are turning to On-Site Staffing in order to reduce the costs associated with bringing on new employees, which may include but are not limited to recruiting, administration, payroll costs, training, unemployment, workers compensation and employment law issues.

Janelle Koren is extremely proud to announce that Rockline Industries has chosen Locate Staffing, Inc. to be their On-Site Staffing Company, effective August 1, 2005. “The opportunity to stream-line recruiting and hiring practices for Rockline Industries with regard to temporary and permanent staffing needs will be seamless” said Koren of Locate Staffing. “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to create a harmonious recruiting relationship by placing representatives of Locate Staffing right inside the building of Rockline Industries.

Old Wisconsin Sausage and Locate Staffing have also entered into an agreement to provide On-Site Staffing services to start approximately November 1st, 2005.

As companies turn to Locate Staffing to assist in placing employees in their locations, Locate consultants will complete the firing processes for the companies and customize a program to meet the guidelines set forth by those companies. Companies are finding that outsourcing to the professionals will allow their employees to focus on their core competencies and day-to-day operations.

To obtain more information about the On-Site Staffing Division, questions can be direct to Janelle Koren at 920/451-1313.

Certification Important to Locate Staffing

It’s more than just sending temporary employees to work!  Having a well qualified internal staff is so important to Janelle Koren, owner of Locate Staffing, that if you want to work in her office, you must go through training to become labor and employment law certified.

Locate Staffing, Inc. is a member of the American Staffing Association (ASA), an organization that represents the U.S. staffing industry.  Among the many services provided by ASA, individuals can receive the Certified Staffing Professional designation (CSP).  The CSP program offers a professional credential through completion of an in-depth, self-study course, and an exam of labor and employment law principles and ethical practices applicable to the staffing industry.

Member companies of ASA provide temporary help, contract labor, and permanent placement services through 15,000 offices across the nation and account for 85% of U.S. staffing industry revenues.

The CSP program promotes industry wide competence standards through a uniform national program.

Event Drives Businesses

Numbers uncertain but hopes are high.  Sheboygan – Tim Wasmer’s company will service the airplanes, Peggy Dean’s outfit will handle the toilets.  Janelle Koren will marshal a small army for litter patrol.  And Stefano Vigiletti figures he’ll be serving veal chops well past normal closing time.

The 86th PGA Championship, set for this week at Whistling Straits, is not just the biggest single event the Sheboygan area has seen; it’s a boon to scores of Wisconsin businesses doing everything from housing spectators to putting up picket fences.

“We’re expecting it to be enormously busy,” said Vigliette, owner of a pair of downtown Sheboygan restaurants all but certain to be packed with hungry golf fans.

And, indeed, the Professional Golfers’ Association of America is projecting a cascade of spending around its signature event.  The organization estimates that championship will have an economic impact on Wisconsin of $75 million.

“Very conservative,” tournament director Barry Deach said of the figure.  “Very conservative.”

Locate Staffing, will provide about 30 people to tap beer barrels and keep them well iced, and about 120 to pick up litter.  The Sheboygan company, owned by Janelle Koren, is paying about $9 and hour and doesn’t want temps interested in golf.  “Those types of people would not do well,” Koren said.  “They would be involved in watching the game.”
